Hello and welcome!

I’m so glad you popped by!

Here’s a little bit about me:

I’m Marie-Hélène, but you can call me MH.

I am French Canadian and now live just outside a big city in Ontario, Canada. I will put a U in neighbour and colour, to name a few. For my American friends: this is not a typo. We’re just weird that way.

I’m a take-charge kinda gal, a classic type A go-getter, but I’ve finally learned to be kinder to myself. I’ve learned that plans need to be flexible in order to adapt to the many changes that happen in our lives.

I wear many hats, like you. I’m a mom, step-mom, wife, entrepreneur, scientist and list-maker extraordinaire. I’m in my mid-forties and I share my home with my husband, our three kids (who are between 15 and 19 years old) and our cat. I’ve been divorced; self-employed; worked full-time crazy IT hours; worked at home around a fussy baby’s schedule; I’ve taken care of an ailing grandparent, mourned their passing as well as my mother’s passing; I have a blended family; I have a chronic illness, which means I have to be super-efficient.

With this blog I intend to share my tips and tricks for increasing productivity, keeping on track financially and making delicious meals. I’ll show you I plan for the important things in my life.

I love where I’m at in my life and I want you to feel the same.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve always found satisfaction in making lists, drawing up plans and organizing people & projects.

It’s just a natural part of who I am. I have, over the last twenty years, run several successful businesses as office manager, operations manager or owner.

Why A Plan of Sorts?

Well, you know what they say about plans… Seriously though, being able to adapt and to change is so important. We don’t want to end up like the dinosaurs! Stay with me and see how I prioritize my life so that the unexpected doesn’t throw me off my game. I’ll lead you through my process of deciding what really matters and what to put on the back burner, or even throw straight out the door! No short-cuts; no feeling short-changed. You will see that it is possible to save money without having a huge income; it is possible to eat healthy meals on the run; it is possible to get off that hamster-wheel and LIVE!

This blog is for you if you’ve ever had a plan, thrown it out the window… and kept your sense of humour!
